An update to zoning and subdivision regulations is only successful when it reflects the goals and values of the community. You have the opportunity to help create the vision and principles that will guide this important process.
No matter how much time you have, there are ways to contribute and make your voice heard. Community workshops and public meetings will be held throughout the process. You can also fill out a comment form to let us know what you think at any time.

Community Workshop: Overview of Preliminary Regulations on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:30pm
The Community Development Department is hosting an in-person community open house and workshop for those interested in the County’s Development Title Update project to revise Title 9 of the County Code. The hour and a half workshop will take place on:

Initiated last year, this project is revising the County’s development regulations, including zoning and subdivision controls and other regulations related to infrastructure, services, and fees to be consistent with the updated 2035 General Plan. The workshop will include a discussion of the revisions drafted to date and present some of the preliminary regulations that have been prepared for the Development Title Update project. The County’s consultant, Dyett & Bhatia - Urban and Regional Planners, will give a brief overview of the “modules” of preliminary regulations, followed by informal discussions focusing on specific issues and questions participants have about the preliminary regulations and the update process. Module 1 presents introductory provisions and proposals for administration and permits, which will streamline the approval process. The module along with background information about the Development Title Update and the planning process, and all the documents, presentations, and reports prepared throughout the planning process are available here.

Input from community members is a crucially important part of San Joaquin County’s update of its Development Title which includes regulations for zoning and subdivision controls and other regulations related to infrastructure, services, and fees to implement the County’s 2035 General Plan.
